28 Oct The 1996 Manhattan Neighborhood Network Cable Interview Survives!
The 1996 Acoustic Poets’ interview on Cable Network TV, with Paula, Carol and Zoe, is now on YOUTUBE!
Take a look at these Poet To Poet episodes (with the late Robert Dunn) that aired on Manhattan Neighborhood Network (MNN) and numerous other cable affiliates across the country, from 1993-2001. These episodes were taped August 31, 1996, at the Crescent City Cafe in Floral Park, NY. Here The Acoustic Poets: Zoe Jade Austin, Carol Carroll and Paula Curci explain APN and read some early poems.
Poet to Poet also held open mics through out the NYC metro area and published several anthologies. This show was one of the earliest cable TV shows in America. Each original episode was a half-hour long, with poets or musical guests performing their work within the context of an interview format. Poet To Poet was hosted by Robert Dunn, directed by Thomas M. Catterson; technical staff was Anthony Scarpantonio and Leigh Harrison; theme music was composed by either Bob Perfetto or John Todras. Thank you Leigh Harrison for reviving these videos!
